Serving over 175 individuals with a wide range of disabilities, our programs are tailored to meet the needs of every single one of our campers. Missy Loyd/Pterodactyl
Camp Director
Missy, Camp Director, joined the Colorado Lion’s Camp team in August 2026. With over 15 years of experience in camp leadership. She grew up in Southern California and, after high school, escaped the desert heat for the mountains, where she learned that working at Summer Camp can become a full-time career!
Over her camp career, she has been a counselor and activity leader at traditional summer camps, worked in wilderness medical and emergency management, taught environmental education, and most recently held a director role at a camp that provided programming and care for individuals with disabilities. Missy holds a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, San Marcos, and knows that no other job will fulfill her the way that camp does. She emphasizes safe, fun, and quality programming that promotes independence for people of all abilities. In her free time, she enjoys mountain biking, camping, and exploring beautiful places. Angela W./Cali
Business Manager
Angela, Business Manager, joined the Colorado Lions Camp team in July 2020. She served in her role until September 2022, when she and her family moved to Washington state for a new adventure. She is taking time out of that continued adventure to join us once again as our Business Manager, and we are beyond excited for her to be back on our team! She comes with a wealth of knowledge on both business and camp.
She is a proud mom to her two boys and spends as much time as she can with them. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and going on walks with her dachshund, Steve. Angela actively gives back to her community through her continued volunteer work. On top of being busy with her kids and her community, she also just graduated with her Master’s in Business. One of her favorite quotes is “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
Where We Are and What We Do
There isn't a better view than the one out our lodge windows. Located in Pike National Forest and just a few miles outside Woodland Park, Colorado. Our camp offers a variety of programs throughout the year, including week-long summer camp sessions (Sunday to Friday) and weekend respite camps (Thursday/Friday to Sunday).
