Summer 2023 Information Overview
Thank you so much for being interested in the Colorado Lions Camp, a place where campers can participate in a variety of adapted outdoor and recreational activities, make new friends, and explore new opportunities. Whether you are a returning camper or a first-timer, there is always something new to experience at the Colorado Lions Camp!
Our program serves individuals with disabilites, ages 8 to senior adults. Our activities are specifically designed to meet the needs of individuals with: Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, developmental delays, intellectual challenges, blind/visual impairments, deaf/hard of hearing, physical disabilities, or mental disorders.
All applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a limited amount of spaces for each session available. Once these spots have been filled, the session will be closed.
Here’s to a successful and safe return to the Colorado Lions Camp! We are committed to finding safe and creative ways to serve all of our campers and staff this upcoming summer. We continue to work with our local and state health departments as well as the CDC and ACA (American Camp Association) to provide the safest program. We know that things can change daily, so we are staying up with the changes and will keep everyone posted.
SUMMER 2023 UPDATES TBA SPRING 2023
Please read the following items carefully:
Masks will be required at all times (if we can be outside and physical distance, we will provide mask breaks). If any changes, we will notify you before your camp session.
Enhanced cleaning and sanitizing measures will be in place, more than they were in the past.
Camp sessions will be from Sunday to Friday
Check-in and Check-out will look differently this summer, you will be asked to stay in your care and screened before you come in. Only one person is allowed to enter the building with the camper during check-in and check-out. Please do not bring additional people or pets for this process.
Each camper will have their temperature checked once a day during the stay at CLC.
Additional Information for Families & Friends
Due to updated guidelines, we need a few things from families and support teams to make this summer safe and successful. If you have your COVID-19 vaccine card, could you please provide a copy of it to us before you arrive to camp. If you do not have the vaccine, then you will have to provide a negative COVID-19 test that was taken at least three days prior to arriving for your session.
Masks will be required at all times (other than sleeping, drinking, and eating) Please make sure the camper is prepared to wear it at all times and has enough masks to get them through the week. We understand that some might have to do face shields due to doctors’ orders, but masks must be worn properly in order for the camper to attend camp. We will physically distance and try to be outside when possible. If something changes, we will notify you of your camp session.
We are asking to log the camper’s temperature two weeks prior to camp and bring the sheet to check in. We will screen each person and their driver before entering the building. Please note you will only be allowed one person to accompany the camper at check-in. We will still be giving campers awards on Friday, but unfortunately, no guess will be allowed to attend.
We ask that you follow these guidelines and protocols so we can run a safe and successful summer.
There are a limited number of camperships available to help cover the cost. Please download a Campership Request Form and send it to the camp along with the camper application.
Please review your confirmation packed for check-in and check-out processes.
