The Colorado Lions Camp for special populations will have 10
one-week sessions in 2008. Each session provides activities in a fun atmosphere
targeting increased independent living skills. Various activities included
Adventure Education, horseback riding, aquatics, arts and crafts, and
outdoor education. These activities enhance the independence of each camper.
Over 300 people enjoyed the camping experience this past summer at the Colorado
Lions Camp. Staffing included a recreation staff, a Registered Nurse, and
experts in visual and hearing impairments. Progress Notes compiled during
each session indicated significant progress for various campers in attaining
independent living skills. Camps specializing in visual, hearing, and multiple
impairments were offered as well as sessions for developmentally delayed individuals.
